Dr. Jennifer Fast is a clinical psychologist in practice since 2009 and currently works at Stanford Couples Counseling in Dallas, Texas. Prior to moving to Texas, Dr. Fast lived and worked in the Chicago-land area. She has extensive experience working with adults, emerging adults and college students, geriatric, international, and LGBTQIA+ populations. Dr. Fast specializes in trauma and interpersonal violence, identity development, life transitions, mood disorders, interpersonal relationships, leadership, and psychological/neuropsychological assessment.
Like many in the mental health field, Dr. Fast believes most of the suffering people face is relational at the core, whether due to family of origin issues, romantic relationships, workplace dynamics, experiences with interpersonal violence, and/or societal and cultural expectations. People desire to be seen, heard, and understood; to be accepted, loved, and to know they matter and what they do matters. Dr. Fast sees psychotherapy as a wonderful way to uncover and unravel these issues in order to live more authentically.
Dr. Fast lives in Fort Worth with her husband, two children, three cats, dog, turtles, and an unknown number of fish. She has been semi-successful at keeping her garden alive, hopes to add goats and chickens to her brood, and loves to bake complicated recipes for relaxation.
